Fostering Mental Health - Preventing Burn-Out
Causes and indicators for being trapped in a vicious circle of mental exhaustion will be presented briefly. We will then focus on mental methods for "staying sane" in academia and handle situations of distress professionally. Exercises focus on calming down and regulating emotions as well as generating the energy required to tackle challenges and difficult situations.

This session will be about getting back in touch with one´s own resources, needs and desires. Participants will rediscover why they entered academia at all and reorient themselves towards desirable outcomes and to the values, which are important to them. They will develop an individual strategy to nurture their wellbeing emotionally, mentally and physically, which will be the source of their professional success.

Dealing with Setbacks and Exhaustion
It is possible to deal with setbacks in a way that opens up new possibilities. So it is not about avoiding "failure" it is about framing setbacks in a healthy way. An exercise will highlight the internal abilities to get back into balance and stay strong mentally when intended results are missing.

What is the big deal about Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is one element of mental strength. But there is more to mental strength. In the last webinar the six columns of emotional flexibility, leading to resilience and mental strength will be worked through. Exercises will again make it easy to transfer theory into practice.
